ManiFeste 2024, the spring festival in Paris, opens its stages to musical creation, to electronics and dance, to speed and joy, from May 30 to June 22, 2024. IRCAM's festival and academy showcases a taste for montage, tracking shots and close-ups, the harmony and discrepancies between moving images and moving music.
Martin Matalon inspired by Charlie Chaplin, Thierry De Mey choreographing the Percussions de Strasbourg, Chaya Czernowin reinventing the performance space of a "memory palace". A ManiFeste where electronics meets comics at the Centre Pompidou, hypnotic mutations of the body with choreographer Alexandre Roccoli and the Soundwalk collective, or artists from the MEGO record label and Caterina Barbieri.
At the Théâtre du Châtelet, we discover the brilliant virtuosity of Simon Steen-Andersen; the Danish composer stages sonic and visual whirlwinds of archives and our living present, collective memories and derailments of an unusual and stimulating TRIO for orchestra, jazz band, and vocal ensemble.
ManiFeste 2024: the eye listens, the music acts.
